Children with ADHD are often diagnosed with behavioral problems. The child may do things that are impulsive. The child often moves on from one task to another before even finishing the first task. Boredom sets in or a new idea pops into the child's head and he or she is off to the next task.
Another ADHD symptom includes inability to organize. The child may have a very hard time getting ready for school in the morning. The child may start to put on his or her clothes, then decide to eat breakfast. The child really needs to have a set schedule and help with organization.
The child is usually louder than other children and engages in loud games and play before choosing quiet activities. He or she may do a quiet activity, but more times than not, has to keep on making noises or excessively talk.
You can call your doctor and speak to your child's teacher if you suspect ADHD. You will most likely have to fill out forms on your child's behaviors and tendencies. Three of his or her teachers will fill out the same papers, too. With this documentation, and speaking to you, your doctor can determine if your child has ADHD.
